Theresa V. Chagnon

Theresa V. (Renaud) Chagnon, 88, formerly of 15A Elm Terrace Apts. died Mon., Aug. 3, 2015 at the Poet Seat Health Care Center, following a period of declining health.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1926 in Brattleboro, VT to Zephyr and Nettie (Monmaney) Renaud and was raised in Guilford, VT. where she attended the Algiers School and later, the Thompson School of Nursing. 
She worked for many local businesses, but was known for her compassionate care as a private home healthcare aid.  Theresa enjoyed collecting paperweight eggs, playing bingo, cards, day trips to the casinos, following the Red Sox and most of all, spending time with her family.
She leaves her loving children: Raymond Chagnon, Michelle Clark and her life partner Merle Smith,Christopher Chagnon and 3 grandchildren.  Additionally, she leaves a sister Gloria Smith of Brookline, NH and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, several siblings and by her granddaughter, Honey Lee Chagnon.
In keeping with Theresa’s request, interment will be private in Calvary Cemetery, Greenfield, MA.  Visiting hours are omitted.  A Mass will be observed in her memory at a future date to be announced.  Gifts in Theresa’s memory are suggested to Poet Seat Health Care Ctr., Resident’s Activity Fund, 359 High St., Greenfield, MA 01301 or to Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St., Suite 2, Greenfield, MA 01301.
