Shirley Seaman Obituary

Shirley Barbara (Clark) Seaman of Greenfield passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 28, 1930 in Greenfield to Francis Clark Sr. and Althea (McKenzie) Clark. She was the oldest of four children. She met the love of her life Charles C. Seaman, Sr. at a young age. They were married March 17, 1947. They had 66 years together. Charlie predeceased her in 2013.

Shirley attended Greenfield schools and was part of the Class of 1947. She enjoyed the Glee club and was part of the Rainbow Girls youth group of the Eastern Star. She was a Cub Scout leader for many years. Shirley was a member of the United ARC of Franklin County and was instrumental in the integration of her youngest daughter into the mainstream school system.

Shirley has been a life long member of The Episcopal Church of Saints James and Andrew. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and sewing. She enjoyed traveling with Charlie. She enjoyed gathering together with family and friends. Especially Paul and Arden.

Shirley is survived by her children, Charles, Jr. (Sandy) of Greenfield; Thomas (Kathleen) of Huddleston, VA; Robert (Irene) of Turners Falls; Leesa Lesenski (John) of Whately; and Clark (Donna Billiel) of Orange. Also, by her brother Earle Clark of Greenfield. She is survived by 12 grandsons and 14 great-grandchildren. All who loved her dearly. She is predeceased by parents, her husband, Charles Sr.; her children Scott, Kathleen, Paul and Kristen; and by her brother Frances Clark, Jr. and sister Betty Clark Anderson.

A Celebration of Life will be May 28th at 9:00 am The Episcopal Church of Saints James and Andrew, 8 Church St. Greenfield MA A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will be privately at a later date.
