Richard C. Davis, Sr.

Richard C. Davis Sr. 75, passed away Monday Nov. 17 at home. He was born June 6, 1939, the son of Dorothy and Lawrence Davis. When he was 3 years old, his father passed away and he was raised by his mother and step-father Roger Macintosh.  He married the former Sheryl (Whitney) on Sept. 14, 1957, celebrating over 55 years of marriage before her passing on March 18, 2013. Richard was employed at Deerfield Plastics, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, taking pictures, and summer trips to Lake Winnipesaukee with his wife.
He is survived by his sons Richard Jr. and his wife Deborah of Montague, Robert and his wife Karen, Michael and his companion Priscilla Collins, all of Greenfield, and daughter Nancy Luippold and her husband David also of Greenfield. Grandchildren Scott and Kyle Davis, Michael Davis and his companion Mirinda Scappace, Elizabeth and Sarah Davis, and Christopher, Timothy and Matthew Luippold; great-grandchildren Willow Scappace and Gavin Davis.  He is also survived by his brothers Lawrence Davis of Virginia and Roger Macintosh of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. His brothers-in-law Jeff Whitney and Don Miskewich of Florida and sister-in-law Lynne Montgomery and her husband Neal of Connecticut. He leaves Megan Fleckenstein and her husband Eric and their son Adam, and Matthew Montgomery all of Connecticut, who Richard also considered his grandchildren.  
At Richard’s request there are no services.  A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  A celebration of life will take place at the Second Congregational Church Hall at 16 Court Square in Greenfield on Saturday November 22, 2014 from 1:00 - 3:00. Parking for those wishing to attend, is available at the rear McCarthy Funeral Homes which is adjacent to the church.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dakin Humane Society, P.O.
