Richard Gordon Clark, 85, of 50 Redbrook Lane, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Keystone Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Leominster, MA, following a period of declining health.  A native of Greenfield, MA, he was born on May 10, 1929 a son to Alfred and Edith (Volkman) Clark of Montague Center, MA.  He was educated in Montague Public Schools and graduated from Turners Falls High School in the Class of 1947.  Mr. Clark also attended, the Vesper George School of Art in Boston, MA. 
 
He served in the U.S. Army Transportation Corp. during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in February of 1953.  He was employed by the Wirthmore Feed and Building Supply Co. as the manager of stores in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New York.  He was also the manager of the Wilson Lumber Company in Concord, MA and the Lumbertown Stores in Derry, NH and South Deerfield, MA.  He also worked for the Boilard Lumber Company in Indian Orchard, MA for a number of years. Dick enjoyed all sports, in particular golf in his later years.
 
Survivors include his children: (1) Son: Richard S. Clark and his wife Domenica, of Medfield MA; (3) Daughters: Lynn Buteau and her husband Bernard, of Athol, MA; Christine Smith and her husband Doug, of Danvers, MA and Katherine Lemoine and her husband Steven, of Leominster, MA (1) Brother: Kenneth S. Clark and his wife Joan, of Eldorodo Hills, CA.  Additionally he leaves 8 loving grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Katherine LeVan of Nashua, NH.
 
Funeral services will be conducted from the McCarthy Funeral Homes, 14 Prospect Street, Turners Falls, MA, on December 4, 2014 at 11:00AM with Rev. Daniel Johnson, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church of Turners Falls to officiate. Committal rites and burial will be private with military honors in the Locust Hill Cemetery, Montague, MA, with members of the 54th Massachusetts Army National Guard in attendance, assisted by the Hale-Clapp VFW Post #3295 of South Deerfield, MA providing a firing detail.  The Clark family will receive guests from 10:00AM until the time of the service.  Expressions of affection in the form of charitable contributions are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Montague Veteran’s Memorial Fund, #1 Avenue A., Turners Falls, MA 01376 or to the Hale-Clapp VFW Post #3295, c/o Alan Thackeray, P.O.
