Pauline G. Porlier

Pauline G. (LaClaire) Porlier, 91, a resident of the Poet Seat Health Care Center, 359 High Street, died peacefully on November 8, 2017 at the nursing facility following a period of declining health. A native of Montague, MA, she was born on November 6, 1926 to Thomas and Rena (White) LaClaire and was educated in local public schools.
She married the love of her life, Marcel P. Porlier on September 11, 1948 in the former St. Anne’s Church, with Rev. Fr. Fleury as the celebrant. Pauline and her husband were devout communicants of the former St. Anne’s Church, where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne’s Society. At the time of her passing, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Turners Falls, MA. Her hobbies and pastimes included quilting, sewing and cooking.
A devoted wife and mother, she is lovingly remembered by her four children: Marcy Potyrala (Stanley) of Turners Falls, MA; David (Sharon) of Erving, MA; Gary (Deb) of Erving, MA and Barry of Turners Falls, MA. Additionally, she leaves her adoring grandchildren: Marc Potyrala (Sandy); Staci Branon (Chad); Corey Porlier, Nicki Gonzales (Paul) and Jocelyn Porlier and Alphonse Michalski, as well as 12 loving great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years in April of 2008, as well as by her parents Thomas and Rena and her siblings Arlene Osciak and Theodore LaClaire. Pauline’s family wish to express their appreciation to the staff of the Poet’s Seat Health Care Center for making her feel “at home” and for their dedicated and loving care.
A memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial will be observed at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA, with rites of committal and inurnment to follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Turners Falls, MA at a future date and time to be announced. Visiting hours are omitted.
