Greenfield, MassachusettsMildred H. (Hauptman) Myers, 92, died Monday evening, March 21, 2016 in the peace and comfort of her home, with her loving daughter at her side following a period of declining health.A native of Patterson, NJ, she was born on June 21, 1923 to Gabriel & Rebecca Hauptman. Mildred graduated from Irvington, NJ High School and Drake College of Business. She married Harold Myers in April of 1944, while he was serving in the United States Army during WWII. Following his discharge, they moved to Greenfield, where he joined the family cattle business of I.R. Myers & Sons. They celebrated 17 years of marriage together, prior to his passing in 1961.Mildred was employed as a staff accountant in the business office of Deerfield Academy, for 47 years, retiring in 2009. She was a member of Temple Israel, Greenfield Chapter of Hadassah, the Board of Organized Work of the former Franklin Medical Center and an incorporator of that organization. She was also an avid fan of the Red Sox.She leaves her son Frederick and daughter Judie Myers, who was her caregiver, a brother Harvey Hauptman and his wife Felice of N. Brunswick, NJ, two nieces, a nephew and two grandnieces.Funeral services in celebration of her life, will be observed on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11:00AM at Temple Israel, 27 Pierce Street, Greenfield, MA with Rabbi Andrea Cohen-Kiener officiating. Burial will follow in the Myers family plot in the Greenfield Hebrew Cemetery, Greenfield, MA with a reception to follow at the Greenfield Country Club. The family will be reciting the memorial prayer at the regularly scheduled Friday evening Kabbalat/Shabbat service at Temple Israel at 7:30PM.Expressions of affection in the form a charitable donation in Mildred’s memory, may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association, P.O.
