Greenfield, Massachusetts Martha “Marty” Channing Kells, of Mountain Road, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017. A lifelong resident of Greenfield, Marty was the daughter of Richard E. and the late Dorothy (Johnson) Kells. She attended Greenfield Public Schools and worked for many years at the local Stop & Shop. Marty loved music, playing tennis, horses and, especially, her pet dogs. She leaves behind her father and many cousins and a family friend, Stephen Pedigree to remember her with affection. In keeping with Marty’s interest in simplicity and privacy, graveside services following cremation will be observed in the St. Anne’s Cemetery, Turners Falls, MA at the convenience of her family. Visiting hours are omitted. Expressions of affection in the form of a charitable contribution in her memory, are suggested in lieu of flowers to either the Greenfield Recreation Department, Attn: Fireworks Fund, in c/o Christy Moore, Director, 20 Sanderson Street, Greenfield, MA 01301 or to the Friends of the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter, 10 Sandy Lane, Turners Falls, MA 01376.
