Mark Edward Fournier, 61, of 108 Millers Falls Road, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at home following a period of declining health.  A native of Montague, he was born on December 14, 1955 to Dorothy J. (Parenteau) and Bernard C. Fournier.
Mark attended Montague Public Schools.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army in December of 1972, and served honorably stateside with the United States Army Forces Command, HQ Co. in Suitland, MD as a clerk typist. He was honorably discharged in July of 1973 as PV 1st Class. 
Most recently, Mark worked for Charter NEX Films in the shipping department until his health prevented him from doing so.  He also worked previously for Yankee Candle, Ace Cab and Heat Fab.  He loved animals, in particular parrots, especially his Congo Parrot “Grey” who provided him much joy and companionship.
He leaves a daughter-Cody Joy Tringali of Erving, MA and her sons: Dominic Lewis, Samual Finch and Vincent-Price Fournier. He leaves a son-James Fournier of Greenfield, MA. He leaves his brothers Gerald “Jerry” Fournier of TN and James Fournier of MA. Additionally, he leaves his Aunts: Kathleen Parenteau of Fl., and Eunice Parenteau of MA as well as several nieces, nephews and many, many cousins. Mark is  remembered by his devoted friends, Diane Santaniello, her spouse Kim Bergeron and their daughter Sam of, Greenfield, MA. He was predeceased by his mother Dorothy in 2006 and by his father Bernard in 2010, as well as by many aunts and uncles. 
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be observed on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA at 10:00AM. Rites of committal and inurnment, will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Turners Falls, MA with military honors to be conducted by the 54th Massachusetts ANG, assisted by the Hale-Clapp VFW Post #3295 providing a firing detail.  Guests are invited to join Mark’s family on this date and to assemble directly at the church location no later than 9:45AM in advance of the funeral liturgy. Visiting hours are omitted.
Expressions of affection in Mark’s memory are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Dakin Humane Society, P.O. Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01001 or to the First Methodist United Church, 25 Church Street, Greenfield, MA 01301.
