Turners Falls, MassachusettsMarie (Emond) Demers, 80, of Turners Falls died Sunday (9-18-16) at The New England Health Center in Sunderland, MA. She was born on October 15, 1935 in Quebec, Canada, to Arthur and Laurette ( Emond) Emond. She first attended school in Canada and after moving to Lake Pleasant, attended St. Anne’s Parochial School in Turners Falls. She grew up in Lake Pleasant. She married Edmund Demers on October 6, 1962. She worked at Lesnow’s in Easthampton, Mass. and then for the J.H.Smith Co. in Greenfield as a Sticher. She enjoyed her Family, her Grandchildren and Bingo.Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, Edmund Demers, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Shelburne, Larry Dennett and his wife Andrea of Greenfield and Danny Dennett of Greenfield, Four daughters, Michelle Demers and her partner Stan of Greenfield, Tina Tyler of Turners Falls, Diane Wickline and her husband John of Arizona and Linda Liebenow and her husband Bob of Greenfield, four brothers, John Emond, Robert Emond, Lester Emond and Paul Ostendoff, three sisters, Theresa Emond, Claire York and Jeannine Jones.Besides her parents she was also pre-deceased by three brothers, Norman Emond, Joe Emond and Gary Emond and two sisters, Althea Dawson and Sylvia Miller. There will be a Catholic Rite of Burial at the McCarthy Funeral Home, 14 Prospect St., Turners Falls, Mass on Thursday ( 9/22/2016) at 11:00A.M. with the Rev. Stanley Aksamit officiating followed by burial at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Turners Falls. There will be a calling hour from 10:00A.M. till the time of the service at the funeral home.
