Linda Ann (Martin) Fisher, 70, a resident of 7 Cedar Street, died Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA, following a period of declining health.

A native of Greenfield, she was born on March 9, 1948 a daughter to Marjorie (Broderick) and Donald Martin. Linda was educated in Greenfield Public Schools and was a graduate of Greenfield High School in the Class of 1966 and later, attended Greenfield Community College.

Linda was employed for several years by Greenfield Public Schools in the Food Service Department in the cafeteria at the Newton Street School. Later, she worked for the former King’s Department Store in Greenfield, Meridian Associates and Aliber’s Bridal Shop, all the while working at the Elizabeth Home as the office/site manager for over 30 years.

In her leisure time, Linda enjoyed traveling, in particular to the Caribbean where she enjoyed the sandy beaches, warm water and magnificent sun rises and sun sets. She enjoyed the company of her daughter Debbie and many friends on “girls only” shopping excursions. She was a bingo enthusiast, enjoyed car shows with her late husband Bill and the company of her beloved dogs “Boogie” and “Patch” who provided her with their unconditional love. Linda served on the board of directors and was past president for the Franklin County Agricultural Society and was active the 4H for many years.

Linda is loving remembered by her daughter Deborah A. Gordon, her husband Jeffrey and their children Christopher and Melissa of Greenfield, MA. Additionally, she leaves her “adopted daughter” Lucinda “Cindy” Isles and her husband James and their daughter Chelsea Deputy and her husband James and their son Liam. Linda’s passing is mourned by her siblings: Her brother, the Hon. William F. Martin, Mayor of Greenfield and his wife Isabelle Field, and her sister Tina Woods and her husband Russ of Brooksville, FL and Greenfield, MA. Additionally there are several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Linda’s family invites you to join them on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the McCarthy Funeral Homes, 36 Bank Row, Greenfield, MA, where they will received guests from 2:00PM until 4:00PM. A committal service following cremation, will be observed on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Calvary Cemetery, Greenfield, MA at 11:00AM, where Linda will be reunited by her husband William “Bill” Fisher who predeceased her in October of 2017. Expressions of affection in the form a charitable contribution in Linda’s memory, are requested in lieu of flowers to either the Franklin County Agricultural Society, (FCAS) 91 Wisdom Way, P.O. Box 564, Greenfield, MA 01302-0564 or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
