Lily B. “Mimi” (Valley) Rosewarne, 98, of 12 Main Road, Apt. #205, Gill, Massachusetts died peacefully on December 28, 2017 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, John and Susan Rosewarne, at 83 Old State Road, Erving, MA, following a period of declining health.
A native of Athol, MA, she was born on March 17, 1919 and was educated in Athol Public Schools, graduate of AHS in the Class of 1937. She was a resident of Gill, MA for many years. She married Bernard J. Rosewarne, on April 16, 1952 and celebrated 43 years of marriage together prior to his passing on June 24, 1995.
Lily enjoyed many activities including, reading, crocheting, cross word puzzles and Country Music. She was an integral part of her grandchildren’s lives, as she was a devoted care giver to them.
She is lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law; John and Susan Rosewarne of Erving, MA, as well as her grandchildren: Kyle Rosewarne of Erving, MA; Ryan Rosewarne and his wife Kimberly of Sebastion, FL and Nicole Rosewarne of Stuart, FL. Additionally she leaves her great grandchildren: Donte & Arianna Rosewarne of Erving, MA, Dominic Garland of Greenfield, MA; Aliyah Rosewarne of FL and great-granddaughter Mya of FL. “Mimi” also found great joy in spending time with her foster great-grandchild James.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:00AM. Rites of committal and inurnment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. At the request of the deceased, visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, expressions of affection are suggested in the form of a charitable contributions in her memory to the Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA 01376.
