Manchester, New Hampshire Lillian M. Suprenant, 95, formerly of Turners Falls, MA, died October 21, 2017 at Courville in Manchester, NH, where she had been a resident since 2014.She was born in Turners Falls on October 14, 1922 to William and Laura (Nadeau) St. Germain. She was a graduate of St. Anne’s Parochial School and of Turners Falls High School in 1941. She married Harold Suprenant on October 29, 1942. While Harold served in the Navy during World War II, she worked in the purchasing department of the Millers Falls Tool Company. After the war, Harold and Lillian made their home and raised their two sons in the same neighborhood in which both Harold and Lillian were raised.Lillian held a number of jobs during her life but her priority was always being a good mother and providing structure and stability to her family. She had a strong Catholic faith and loved her St. Anne’s Church. She was proud of her long-time membership in the Women of St. Anne’s Solidarity and volunteered at all of the church functions.Lillian loved sports and Harold would often say that, as a youngster, she could run faster than the boys. She never missed an athletic event that her sons participated in while in high school, and planned Sunday dinners around the 1:00 New York football Giants’ games in the fall. She followed the Celtics, was an avid reader, and loved to walk. Following her retirement, she served as a volunteer at the former Farren Memorial Hospital and at the Franklin Medical Center. She and Harold moved to Manchester in 2004.She was predeceased by Harold in 2014, a few months shy of celebrating 72 years of marriage! She was also predeceased by her four sisters, Mary, Anne, Josephine, and Alice, and by her brother Harry. Lillian leaves behind her son David and grandsons Alex Suprenant and Royce Suprenant of Redmond, Washington, and son Bob and his wife Maria of Hampton, NH, granddaughters Bria Day of Hooksett, NH and her husband Chris, and Lauren Bombardier and her husband Michael of Manchester, NH, and great grandson Jackson Robert Day, and many nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff of Courville for their wonderfully kind and dedicated care of Lillian.A Liturgy of Christian Burial in remembrance of Lillian, will be observed on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA at 11:00AM. Rites of committal and interment will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Turners Falls, MA, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband Harold. Lillian’s family will receive guests on Friday morning at the McCarthy Funeral Homes, 14 Prospect Street, Turners Falls, MA, from 9:30AM until the time of the dismissal services at 10:15AM with a processional to follow to Our Lady of Peace Church.Expressions of affection in the form of a charitable donation in Lillian’s memory are requested in lieu of flowers to either the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eight Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 or to Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA 01376.
