Bernardston, MassachusettsJudith M. “Judy” (Booker) Smith Bartlett Gunn, 67, of 90 Bald Mountain Road, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, following a period of declining health. A native of Winchendon, MA, she was born on December 25, 1947 to Hazel M. (Brockney) and James E. Booker, Sr., and was educated in Montague Public Schools. Judy was employed for several years by the former Mohawk Plastics Company in their subsidiary Mohawk Container in Montague City, MA, as a packer in the shipping department. Later, Judy drove school bus for Laid-Law Transportation for several years, until her health no longer allowed her to do so.She was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Turners Falls, MA, now known as the Calvary Baptist Church. She married her husband, Paul Edward Gunn, Jr., on Valentine’s Day in 1994, in a civil union in Brattleboro, Vt., followed by a reciting of their vows in the First Baptist Church in Turners Falls. Judy enjoyed many pastimes including baking, crocheting, dancing, flower gardening, tending to her house plants, tag sales, music-attending concerts and was a huge fan of the “Boss” Bruce Springsteen. Judy was an animal lover and fond of cats and will be missed by her feline companion “Four Socks”.Judy is lovingly remembered by her husband Paul Edward Gunn, Jr., as well as her children: Gary W. Smith and his wife Julie, of Turners Falls, MA; Harold M. Bartlett of Bernardston, MA and Kimberly D. Bartlett-Fulmer and her husband Troy, of Seneca, SC. Additionally, she leaves her adoring siblings and their spouses who include: James Edward Booker, Jr., and his wife Carol, of Haynesville, NC; James Earl Booker and his wife Patty, of Festus, MO; Nancy H. Colleli and her husband John, of Mt. Dora, FL; Carol F. Booker of Greenfield, MA; Kathleen J. Ames and her husband Steve, of Hinsdale, NH; Rhonda H. Booker-Bradbury of Brattleboro, VT; Anna M. Guay and her husband Patrick, of Desoto, MO and Mary L. Burns of DesLoge, MO. Judy is also remembered by her step-mother: Mary O. Booker of DesLoge, MO, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews with great affection. Judy was predeceased by her first husband, Paul E. Smith and by her second husband Kenneth E. Bartlett. Graveside services will be observed on Thursday, (Today) October 8, 2015 at 1:00PM from the Center Cemetery, Bernardston, MA located off Church Street. Rev. Daniel Johnson, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church of Turners Falls, MA will officiate. Visiting hours have been omitted.
