John E Doleva passed away unexpectedly at the age of 72 the morning of December 26, 2021 in his sleep. Born on March 8, 1949 in Northampton, MA he was the son of Edward P. and Mary L. (Shumway) Doleva of Greenfield, MA. He leaves behind his loving wife, Diane L. Doleva of 42 years, his mother Mary L. Doleva of Greenfield, his daughter Jessica L. Doleva with grandson Ryan E. and girlfriend Regan of Georgetown, TX, his son John P. Doleva and wife Brooke A. with grandson John Liam of Greenfield, his son Christopher M. Doleva and wife Savannah R. of Georgetown, TX and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father Edward P. Doleva, his sister Cynthia L. Mowry Bond and his niece Jennifer L. Mowry.

John was born and raised in Halifax, MA until he moved to Amherst, MA where he graduated from Amherst High School and worked on the family farm. After high school, he attended UMass Amherst School of Engineering where he graduated with his Civil Engineering degree. After college, John worked as an Engineer for Mackin Construction where in 1972 he met the love of his life, whom he married on January 26, 1979. A few years later, John transitioned to local business ownership and has been the proud owner and operator of Doleva's Car Washes for 35+ years, where he was able to meet many great people from the area and beyond.

John greatly enjoyed spending his free time with his family and friends tuna fishing off the coast of Rhode Island, golfing and attending NHRA where he was a fan of Team Force Racing. John enjoyed “classic” muscle cars and Cummings engines. He also enjoyed bowling for many years where he was able to meet many great people and lifelong friends. He loved to spend time with his family and greatly enjoyed seeing the country as he and his wife traveled to Texas and Florida. John was a proud father that thought very much of his children and their accomplishments in life. He was also a proud Grandfather of two wonderful boys whom he loved greatly and who we know he will be watching over.

John was a deeply caring and thoughtful husband, father, friend and business owner. He valued his family and wanted nothing more than for them to be happy, safe and healthy. His family looked up to him for guidance and will forever cherish his wisdom. His soft spoken word, kind heartedness and contagious smile left a deep impact on all those around him.
