Jean M. (Bitzer) Sulda, 94, passed away at Charlene Manor after a short decline in health. Born in Montague City, MA the youngest child of Edward W. and Mary D. (Fritz) Bitzer and attended Montague schools, graduating from TFHS in the Class of 1944.

She was married to Francis J. “Shy” Sulda on June 30, 1956, the man she always loved and pursued until he asked her to marry him.  They enjoyed 36 years of marriage until Francis passed in 1992.

Jean and Shy had one son, Edward F. Sulda, however, Ed was not an only child as he was raised alongside the Cadran clan with Jean's best friend and sister-in-law Lovey (Sulda) Cadran.

Jean was an accomplished knitter making beautiful sweaters, mittens, and Christmas stockings for many relatives and friends.  She enjoyed playing cards and cribbage, watching sports (especially the Red Sox and Boston Bruins) and game shows, and crossword puzzles.

Jean leaves behind her son Edward and daughter-in-law Marcy (Annear), who was like a daughter to her, as well as her sister-in-law, Imelda Bitzer.  Additionally, she leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews including Lill Miskinis, Donna Bitzer, Charleen Sulda, and Diane Tetreault, SSJ, who were very special to Jean. In addition to having been predeceased by her husband Francis, Jean was pre-deceased by her three brothers Harold, Robert, and William Bitzer.

Jean was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church (formerly St. Mary's Parish) in Turners Falls. Jean’s family would like to thank all the staff members of Charlene Manor for the excellent care given to Jean during her time there.
