Turners Falls, Massachusetts
Jason E. Clark, Sr., 78, former Selectman for the Town of Montague and a resident of 10 Oak Street, passed on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA following a period of declining health, surrounded by loving members of his family.
A native of Conway, MA, he was born on June 21, 1939 to Harold W. and Marie Alice (Waite) Clark.  He was educated in Montague Public Schools and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School in the Class of 1957.  He served as a member of the 54th Massachusetts Army National Guard.  
Jason worked for Jurek Brothers in Greenfield, later for the former Sears & Roebuck Store in the automotive department.  He became the Manager of the appliance department prior to the closing of the store in 1991.  Jason then accepted a position with F.M. Kuzmeskus Bus Lines as a school bus driver and worked for Bond Auto Parts in Greenfield.  In his youth, he worked for the Garbiel Farms in Montague Center, MA.
He married the former Diane I. Kulis on April 7, 1981 in New York and they celebrated their 36th anniversary this past spring.  During their marriage, Jason and Diane traveled extensively, including Las Vegas, Florida, New Orleans, Atlantic City and most of the East Coast.  Jason was a charter member of the Montague Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. #2521 and a past Exalted Ruler.  He was an Honorary Life Member and Treasurer.  He was civic minded and was elected in the 1980’s to the Montague Board of Selectman, serving with his best friend, the now late William Lapointe.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Diane of Turners Falls, MA, as well as by his children: Jason E. Clark, Jr. and his husband Timothy Clark, of North Andover, MA; Judith E. Sorel and her husband Michael, of Greenfield, MA. Additionally, he leaves his adoring grandson, Edward A. Smith and his wife Sara B. and their children Christian, Zachary and Alexander Smith of Greenfield, MA, as well as his siblings Ethel Hutchinson of Greenfield, MA, Merritt Clark and his wife Ann of Kentucky and William Clark of Greenfield, MA and his brother-in-law Richard Kulis of Gill, MA and additionally several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Harold Clark.  Jason really enjoyed his pets Toby and Bailey, who will truly miss him.
A happy remembrance of Jason’s life, will be held on August 27, 2017 at the Montague Lodge of Elks, #1 Elk Avenue, Turners Falls, MA at 2:00PM.  Visiting hours and formal services have been omitted in keeping with Jason’s interest in simplicity.
