Helen F. Pleasant

She was predeceased by her husband Francis Pleasant also of Turners Falls, her parents Adolphus and Helen (Vinnicombe/Sprague) Delpha and her siblings, Margaret, Kathleen, John, Joseph and David Delpha and Bernard Sprague.

Helen is survived by her children, Thomas and Samantha Pleasant of Conway, Ma. Tina and David Lankowski of Agawam, MA, Tod and Karen Pleasant of Greenfield, MA, Ted Pleasant and Karen Orzell of Longmeadow, MA. Tricia and Chad Watterson of Parkesburg, PA, seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren,  her sister-in-law Thelma (Pleasant) Smith of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.
Although she was blessed with many wonderful friends, Helen's family would like to recognize Sharon Lamonakis who helped care for Helen and continues to do so for her family.

Helen and Fran were a civically active couple who made their mark on Franklin County through local Democratic politics, charity work, and community service organizations.
 
Helen's creative pursuits were varied and numerous. She created elaborate wedding cakes and floral arrangements for family members and friends. She took great pride in decorating her home, and was an accomplished seamstress.
 
By far Helen's greatest source of joy was her family. In many ways this was her life's work and her legacy, as a mom, grandmother and GiGi.
 
After raising her five children she worked for many years as assistant to the Office of Probation for the Franklin County District Court.
 
Helen delighted in keeping contact with her close knit group of high school friends, including yearly summer trips together to Falmouth, MA.

In the final months of her life Helen was extremely well cared for by the staff of the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center who always made her feel special and loved.
