Gordon Grant Obituary

Gordon Lloyd Grant passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 9, 2026.  Born on February 1, 1950 to Margaret Campbell and Lloyde Grant in Cavite, Philippines where his father was stationed. He is survived by his wife, Bonny, sons Evan and wife, Pam, Jesse and fiancé Emily,  granddaughters, Miriam and Simone, brothers Bruce, Roger, Dan and Pete, sister-in-law’s, Maryanne and Joan, nieces, Leigh and  Kristin and nephew Joshua.  Gordon spent his professional life in IT working first in Manhattan and later at various schools in Vermont.

Gordon tried hard in his own quiet way to add some kindness to strangers and people around him, whether it was a piece of chocolate slipped into a hand, an expression of kind appreciation to people that he met - either musicians who just entertained us or people who took care of him.

He left no stone unturned, or collected for that matter, appreciating the nuances and uniqueness of each stone.  His quick wit and clever turn of phrase, kept me laughing throughout our 54 years of marriage, almost to the very end.  Gordon loved music, taking photos, dogs and birds, walks in the woods, hiking and most of all - his family.

He will be missed by those whose lives he touched with kindness and compassion.

A funeral service will be held at the Greenfield Hebrew Cemetery on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 at 11:00AM. Rabbi Simcha Halpert-Hanson, of Temple Israel, Greenfield, MA to officiate.
