Ethel Dillensneider Obituary

Greenfield, Massachusetts
Ethel Charlotte (Chambers) Dillensneider passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 with her loving husband, Gary Dillensneider, by her side after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Ethel spent her last days surrounded by family including her daughters Shaina and Brandy and her twin sister Elizabeth.

Ethel was born in North Adams, MA on September 12, 1944 to Charlotte (Newton) and Kimball Chambers. She spent her childhood in Monroe Bridge and graduated from Drury High School in 1962. Ethel was employed by the Franklin Medical Center for close to forty years. She spent many of those years working with patients on East Spoke and the rest of her career working in Medical Records.

Ethel was a natural caregiver who put her family first, above everything else. She loved to host family picnics at her home with the children laughing and playing in the backyard. Her children’s friends were always welcome to visit, sometimes in very large groups. Ethel had beautiful flower gardens which she tended to lovingly and also productive vegetable gardens. Ethel loved to travel near and far. She collected spoons from her travels and also, from the places to which her children traveled.

Ethel was predeceased by her parents. Besides her husband, Gary, of 53 years, Ethel leaves her daughter Shaina and husband Mark Kosloski of Erving, her daughter Brandy Dillensneider of Greenfield, her grandson Gary Kosloski of Erving, her granddaughter Angelina Kosloski and fiancé Dan Herzig of Colrain, and her great-grandsons Gary Kosloski Jr. and Chase Herzig. Ethel is also survived by her twin sister Elizabeth and husband George Pennington of Largo, FL, her brother Kimball and wife Sherry Chambers of Rowland, NC, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
