Montague Center, MassachusettsDorothy M. Aubry, 87, longtime resident of Montague Center, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2015 at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.She was born Dorothy May Moore to Helen (Stasz) and George H. Moore in Kansas City, MO on April 30, 1927. She spent her childhood and early adulthood in Easthampton, MA. She attended Easthampton Public Schools and graduated from Easthampton High School. Last year, she attended her 68th reunion.A graduate of the Fanny Farmer School of Cookery in Boston, she worked at the Smith College Faculty Club, for the Franklin County Public Hospital dietary department and in the cafeteria of the Montague Center Elementary School. She was also a librarian at the Montague Center Public Library. In 1952, she married William E. Aubry of Montague Center, MA. She was a well-known 4H sewing leader, a talented knitter, seamstress and an avid reader. Together, she and her husband Bill cared for children of the elementary school teachers in the Montague area, and were faithful volunteers for many years at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Bill and by her twin brother, William Moore. She leaves her three daughters: Elizabeth Aubry (Gianfranco Santoro) of Rome, Italy; Kathryn Aubry-McAvoy (John McAvoy) of Turners Falls, MA and Marilyn Sena (Thomas Sena) of Montague Center, with whom she made her home. She leaves one son, John W. Aubry of Montague Center, MA. Her loving grandchildren are Andrew, Lauren and Caroline Sena; Noah, Samuel and Harrison Fox; Matteo and Valentina Santoro, and great grandchildren Ava, Liam, Flavia and Ludovico. The Aubry family will receive guests on Tuesday evening, April 21, 2015 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the McCarthy Funeral Home, 14 Prospect Street, Turners Falls, MA, to be followed by a celebration remembrance of her life by family and friends. A private burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Turners Falls where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Bill. Expressions in the form of a charitable donation are suggested in lieu of flowers in her memory to the Montague Center Public Library, 17 Center Street, Montague Center, MA 01351.
