Doris Marie Paulin, 93, died Wednesday, 10/5/22, at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility, Greenfield, MA with her loving family by her side. She was born at Farren Memorial Hospital, Turners Falls, MA on July 28, 1929, the daughter of John J. and Leona M. (Adam) Paulin. Doris was educated at St. Anne's Parochial School and graduated from Turners Falls High School in 1946.
Doris was employed as an administrative secretary at Greenfield Tap & Die (Greenfield Industries, and later TRW), and retired after 45 ½ years of service at the company. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Anne's Church and Our Lady of Peace, enjoyed singing, and was a member of St. Anne's choir for over 55 years. She also sang with the Pioneer Valley Symphony Chorus for several years. Doris volunteered in many parish activities, including Parish Council and Catholic Charities appeal. She also volunteered at the Franklin Medical Center Information Desk and at the hospital Gift Shop for over 25 years as a member of the Board of Organized Work.
Doris enjoyed family get-togethers, traveling with family and friends in the US and abroad, bowling, working crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. She belonged to the Turners Falls Women's Club for many years. Doris had a great sense of humor, and her perseverance was to be admired. She was a big part of our lives and will be dearly missed by her family.
Survivors include several nieces-Pat Noga (Stanley), Sandy Woods (Robert), and Linda (Paulin) Pobanz, nephews-Robert Dickerman (Cynthia), Steven Dickerman (Bella), Michael Dickerman, Robert Paulin (Cindy), Jim Paulin, great nieces-Jenna Dickerman, Lizzie and Lacy Paulin, and great nephews-Christopher Dickerman, Jon and Robbie Dickerman, and Reinhard and Aldo Rompies. Doris was predeceased by her parents, her sister Alma M. Dickerman, and her brother Robert J. Paulin.
Doris's family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Charlene Manor for their wonderful care of Doris over the last several years. There will be no calling hours. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA at 10:00AM, with rites of committal and interment to follow in St. Anne's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Our Lady of Peace, care of Rev. Stanley J. Aksamit, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA 01376, or to a charity of your choice.
