Deborah J. (Heald) Gleason

Deborah J. (Heald) Gleason, 74, of Greenfield, passed peacefully to heaven September 7, 2014 after a courageous battle with COPD.
Born June 1, 1940 in Worcester, MA to Charles Horace Heald and Madolyn Adelaide (Derrick) Heald. She later graduated from Greenfield High School in 1958 and attended Middlebury College. She married Arthur E Gleason, Jr. in 1959 and they began their family. Debby took great pride in raising her four children whom she loved tenderly, and later shared that abundant love with her 12 grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, music, dancing, and loved good food.
Deborah leaves behind her sister, Sandra McCluney of Watsonville CA. Her children Wendi Merkwan and her husband David of Laconia NH, Peter Gleason and his wife Christine of Whately, MA, Jennifer Smith and her husband Jonathan of Peru MA
Debby re-unites with her son Christopher Gleason in heaven who pre-deceased her February 6, 2011. She also leaves behind her niece Megan Moorhead of La Selva Beach CA., 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, all of whom she cherished.
Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 27^th at Second Congregational Church in Greenfield, MA. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service in the parish hall.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you bring/send flowers to your mother.
