Dana N. Wonsey

Dana Nelson Wonsey,68, a resident of Elm Terrace, Greenfield, MA, passed peacefully on May 18, 2022 following a period of failing health. A native of Montague, Dana was born August 7,1953 to the late Leonard and Dorothy A. (Nelson) Wonsey from Montague Center. Dana was educated in the Montague Public Schools and graduated from Greenfield Vocational Technical School.

Dana was employed as a commercial truck driver, retiring due to declining health. In his youth, he was an avid softball player in the Montague Men's League for many years. Dana often volunteered at the annual Montague Old Home Days. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Leonard Wonsey Jr, from Hadley MA, Lu Anne Herrick, Bernardston, MA, Marjorie Paton and Thomas Wonsey of Northfield MA, in addition to many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

In keeping with Dana's request, he will be laid to rest in Elm Grove Cemetery, Montague Center, MA in a private service for family. Expressions of one's affection in Dana's memory, are suggested to Triad of Franklin County. The McCarthy Funeral Homes of Turners Falls and Greenfield, MA have been entrusted with Dana's care and arrangements.
