Colrain, Massachusetts It is with great sadness that the family of Cynthia Louise (Duvall) Kent announces her passing on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Lawrence G. Kent of Colrain and her children, Heather Kent of Walpole, Cathryn Kent of Wenham and Roger Kent and his wife Karen of Olmsted Township, OH. She will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren Kerowyn, Julianna, Kayla and Ian, and her great grandson Kaden.Cindy was born in Littleton, NH to Gardner and Gertrude (Johnson) Duvall, and graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology in 1967. She loved music and playing the piano and organ and filled in as organist for several different churches in the Greenfield area. She sang in the choir, played in the Bell choir and sat on the Music Committee at Second Congregational Church in Greenfield. Cindy joined the Order of the Eastern Star on December 20, 1966 and served Arcana Chapter No. 50 in Greenfield as Worthy Matron three times, and as secretary for many years, among other offices. She also had the joy of serving the State as Deputy Grand Marshal, Grand Representative of Bolivia, Grand Martha and most recently as Grand Organist (her ultimate dream come true).Services in celebration of Cindy’s life, will be observed on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from the Second Congregational Church, 16 Court Square, Greenfield, MA with an Order of the Eastern Star service commencing at 3:45PM, to be followed by a remembrance service at 4:00PM with Rev. Corey J. Sanderson, Pastor, officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln, NH in the Spring, when the cemetery reopens. The Kent family will receive guests on Sunday afternoon in the fellowship hall and parlor of the Second Congregational Church from 2PM until 3:45PM. Parking is available at the rear of the McCarthy Funeral Homes, 36 Bank Row, Greenfield, MA, which is adjacent to the church, or directly behind the church in the municipal parking lot.
