A native of Greenfield, MA, he was born on August 1, 1942 to Albert and Vera (Borden) Williams and was educated in Greenfield Public Schools, graduating from GHS in 1960. While at GHS, he was a standout member of the Green Wave varsity football team as a running back, defensive lineman and punt returner.
Following his graduation from high school, he went to work for the Town of Greenfield in the Department of Public Works, retiring as an equipment operator in 1999. Curt was an avid angler, who along with his fishing sidekick Bobby Hale, could be found along the waterways, streams and ponds of Franklin County. He also enjoyed salt water fishing, hunting for birds of prey and deer. He was proud of his vegetable garden, tending to his home and yard, hosting many cookouts and family gatherings and celebrating the holidays. He continued his love of the game of football, as a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys, all the while residing in the midst of Giants and Patriots country. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his ability for storytelling and bringing laughter to his household and family over the years.
He leaves to remember him with affection his five children: Karena LeFrancois of Athol, MA; Simonne Westort and her husband Aaron, of Charlemont, MA; Curtis Williams; Jeff Williams and his wife Lisa, of Gardner, MA and Jeremy Williams and his wife Tina, of Greenfield, MA. At the request of the deceased, no formal services or visiting hours will be observed. Following cremation, a private gathering of remembrance will take place at the convenience of his family and close friends.
