Candace M. Sutton

Candace M. (Magnant) Sutton, 65, of 65 Fifth St., died Wed., Dec. 16, 2015 at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield, MA.  She was born April 11, 1950 in Adams, MA to Lester F. and Lauraine E. (Sauve) Magnant. She attended Hawlemont Schools and was in the first graduating class at Mohawk Trail Regional H.S., Class of 1968. She attended Adams State College and obtained her RN from Greenfield Community College. 
She was employed as a nurse for many years and worked at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton; Buckley Health Care Ctr., Greenfield; Anchorage Nursing Home in Shelburne and also performed private nursing and was a personal care attendant. 
Candace was devoted to her family & friends, who will remember her for her compassion, kindness, generosity, reliability and loving nature.  She volunteered with the Cornerstone Motorcycle Ministry, Montague Catholic Social Ministries (board member) and was a member of the Congregation of Grace Church in Turners Falls.  Candace enjoyed quilting, sewing & crafts.  Her altruistic nature extended beyond this life, as she was an organ donor whose thoughtful gifts will benefit others.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Albert J. Sutton of Turners Falls, MA & Sonja Sutton of Blandford, MA.  She leaves her brothers: Michael A. Magnant of Charlemont, MA & David G. Magnant and his partner, Lisa Shipee of Hinsdale, NH.  Candace will be missed by her grandchildren Matyah & Truly, in addition to several nephews & grand nephews, as well as many devoted friends.
In keeping with Candace’s interest in simplicity, she will be cremated at her request.
A memorial service will be observed on Sat., Jan. 9, 2016 at the Congregation of Grace Church, 148 L St., Turners Falls, MA at 4:00PM. A reception will follow in the hall of the church from 5-7:00PM.
