Blanche F. (Zukowski) McCarthy

Blanche F. (Zukowski) McCarthy, 92, formerly of 94 K Street and a resident of the Buckley Health Care Center, Greenfield, MA, died peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2015 following a period of declining health.
A native of Montague, MA, she was born on November 27, 1922 to John and Elizabeth (Yarmac) Zukowski.  She was educated in Montague Public Schools and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School in the Class of 1940.
Blanche was employed by the former TRW in the production control department for 31 years, retiring in 1982.  She was a devout communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Turners Falls, MA, and of the former St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, where she was a member of the Catholic Women’s Council for many years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading newspapers, puzzles, card playing and was proud of her Polish heritage. 
She was predeceased by her husband Bernard J. McCarthy (former Town Clerk for the Town of Montague) on September 5, 1983 and by her sisters: Anna Trudel and Jennie Zukowski. Survivors include her loving daughter, Elizabeth McCarthy of Turners Falls, MA; her brother: Raymond J. Zukowski (former Town Clerk for the Town of Montague) as well as her two step brothers: Frank Bush of Greenfield, MA and George Bush of Turners Falls, MA.  Additionally, she leaves several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews who remember her with affection. 
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be observed on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA at 10:00AM, with Rev. Fr. Stanley J. Aksamit, Pastor as the celebrant.  Rites of committal and burial will follow in the Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Turners Falls, MA.  Guests are asked to convene directly at the church on Tuesday morning by not later than 9:45AM in advance of the funeral liturgy. A reception will be announced at the conclusion of the services.  Visiting hours are omitted at the request of the deceased.
