Turners Falls, MassachusettsBernice M. (Dubreuil) Barnes Vlach, 90, of 43 Coolidge Avenue, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2016 following a period of declining health. A native of Montague, MA, she was born on April 10, 1926 to Emile and Frances (Sazama) Dubreuil and was educated in Montague Public Schools.Bernice worked for Erving Paper Co. in the sample department for 15 years. She was an accomplished musician, playing both the piano and organ. Bernice enjoyed crafting, music, vegetable and flower gardening and dining out. She married Rudolph E. “Rudy” Vlach on November 17, 1963 in Peterborough, NH and they celebrated nearly 51 years of marriage together prior to his passing on December 23, 2014. Bernice is lovingly remembered by her son Robert “Rob” Barnes of Turners Falls, MA, as well as by 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews to remember her with affection. She was predeceased by her son Bruce, her husband Rudolph, as well as by her eight siblings.A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be observed at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA on FRIDAY, APRIL 29, 2016 at 10:00AM with Rev. Fr. Stanley J. Aksamit, Pastor, as the celebrant. Rites of committal and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Turners Falls, MA. Visiting hours will be omitted.
