Audrey Diana (Lavin) Murphy, 65, of 360 Conway Street, passed peacefully on September 1, 2022 following a period of declining health. Audrey was born on January 21, 1957, to Lyle L. and Betty J. (Lonsberry) Lavin in Biloxi, Mississippi.
She was employed for many years by the City of Greenfield, at first as an administrative secretary, later receiving certification to be promoted to the position of the City's Assessor, which she held for many years prior to her retirement.
Audrey leaves to remember her with love and affection, her husband Thomas C. Murphy, son Clyde T. Murphy and granddaughter Brooke F. Stetson. In addition, Audrey leaves her sister Nora J. Whoolery (Bob) and her brother Lyle Lavin, Jr., (Nancy) as well as her nieces and nephews: Melissa, Daniel, Laura, Bobby and Jennifer. Audrey was predeceased by her sister, Valerie Titman.
At Audrey's request, there will be no formal services and she will be laid to rest in the Green River Cemetery, next to her late parents at the privacy of her family. Donations in Audrey's memory, are suggested to The Second Congregational Church, in c/o Community Meal, 16 Court Square, Greenfield, MA 01301. McCarthy Funeral Homes, of Greenfield and Turners Falls, MA, have been entrusted with Audrey's care and arrangements.
