Andy cherished the memories he made when he coached along with Phil “Mitzi” Croteau and Donald Loveland, the K of C (Knights of Columbus) Newt Guilbault Little League baseball team. It was a proud accomplishment to him, "...made possible by many", he often said. He was a member for many years of the TFAC (Turners Falls Athletic Club). He leaves his loving wife of 55 years, the former Lorraine T. In keeping with Andy’s altruistic nature, his family donated their loving husband, Dad and Papa to the Tuft’s University Anatomical Gift Program, to assist in their work in medical education and research. There will be no formal services at Andy’s request. Rites of committal and inurnment will be private and at the convenience of his family in St. Anne’s Cemetery upon the completion of the anatomical gift. Rev. Fr. Stanley J. Aksamit, Pastor of Our Lady of Peace Parish will officiate. A celebration of his life will be observed on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club, 29 Country Club Lane, Turners Falls, MA, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM. A detachment of the USAF-Elite Patriot Honor Guard will present our nations colors to Andy’s family, in recognition of his military service at 6:00PM, with a rendition of “taps” to be played in his honor. The following poem is offered as an expression of his love for his family and friends, who meant so much to him…. “To Those I Love”… When I am gone, just release me, and let me go – so I can move into my afterglow. You mustn’t tie me down with your tears; let’s be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love each of you have shown, but now it is time I travel on alone. So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must then let your grief be comforted with trust, that it’s only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart and then when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and “Welcome Home”. Expressions of affection in the form of a charitable contribution in Andy’s name, are preferred in lieu of flowers to either the TFAC, P.O. Box 11, Turners Falls, MA 01376 or to Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway Street, Suite 2, Greenfield, MA 01301
