Anna Kawecki Obituary

Anna Helen (Wasielewski) Kawecki, 98, a resident of 20A, Stratton Manor Apartments, passed peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2021 following a period of declining health.

Anna was born on July 14, 1923 to Agatha (Boguz) and Michael Wasielewski and was educated in Montague Public Schools and Turners Falls High School.

She was employed for many yearst Erving Paper Company and retired in 1985 as a production Supervisor.

She married her now late husband, Edmund A. Kawecki on December 28, 1940 in the former St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Turners Falls, MA, with Fr. John Freel, as the celebrant. They celebrated 58 years of marriage prior to his passing in December of 1998.

Anna leaves her devoted and loving children: Edmund A. Kawecki, Jr., (Joyce) of Bernardston, MA, Norma Jean Kawecki (Linda Geboux-Kawecki) of Frederick, MD and Jane M. Kuznik (Jan) of Leyden, MA, her brother Michael Wasielewski of Tampa, FL, in addition to 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Sadly, she was predeceased by her loving parents, husband Edmund, their son John M. and grandson Paul.

Anna rejoiced in her pursuits of flower and plant gardening, crocheting, music, reading mystery novels, cooking (in particular golumpki) camping and traveling throughout the United States and Canada with her husband Edmund. Anna was a devout communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Turners Falls, MA.

At Anna’s request, visiting hours are omitted.  In keeping with her interest in simplicity, a private graveside Catholic Rite of Committal Service will be observed at the convenience of family, with interment to take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Turners Falls, MA where she will be reunited with her beloved husband Edmund.

In lieu of flowers, expression of one’s affection are suggested in the form of a Mass intention in her memory to be offered at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA 01376.
