Anna J. “Ann” (Kaminsky) Dedinas, 104, of 27 Lincoln Street, passed peacefully at home on Thursday evening, August 20, 2015 following a period of declining health.  A native of Worcester, MA, she was born on December 11, 1910 to John and Mary (Rodzwill) Kaminsky.  She moved with her family to Amherst, MA where she attended local public schools. 
Ann went to work at a young age for the former Hat Factory in Amherst, MA.  She married Michael J. Dedinas, in St. Brigid’s Church in Amherst on May 30, 1932 and they celebrated 29 years of marriage together prior to his passing in 1961. She was homemaker and following the death of her husband, Ann accepted a position with Deerfield Academy in the housekeeping department, where she worked for 25 years. Additionally, she also performed private housekeeping for area families for many years.
A devout Catholic, Ann was an 83 year communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Greenfield, MA. She was formerly a member of the St. Anne’s Lithuanian Society. Ann was recently honored as the recipient of the Boston Post Gold Cane for the being the oldest resident of Greefield. She loved her flower gardens and could be found in the early morning hours tending them each day.  In particular, she was fond of gladiolus and enjoyed birds and her birdhouses.. Ann enjoyed card playing and bingo, as well as baking and cooking.  She enjoyed watching the daily news on television, her favorite game shows, golf and her beloved Red Sox. Ann faithfully remembered her entire family with cards on their birthdays and at Christmas.
Survivors include her adoring children:  Richard Dedinas and his wife Alvis, of Greenfield, MA; Margaret “Peg” Stevens and her husband Guy, of Greenfield, MA and Theresa J. “Tess” Leete, (wife of the late Howard Leete) of Greenfield, MA.  Additionally, she leaves 8 grandchildren who include: Steven Dedinas (Renee), Alan Dedinas (Brenda), Mark Dedinas, Laurie Lapointe(Alan), Kristine Patterson(Philip); Kathleen Thomas, Karen Lovett-Emerson(Dann), Michael Leete(Jocelyn); 14 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews to remember her with affection. She was pre-deceased by a step-daughter Marion Wondoloski, as well as by her brother Adam Comins and sisters, Mary Baronas and Caroline Gagnon.
Funeral services will be observed on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, with a concelebrated Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal Street, Greenfield, MA, with Msgr. Ronald G. Yargeau, Pastor of Holy Trinity Church and Rev. Fr. Timothy J. Campoli, Pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church to preside.  Rites of committal will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Greenfield, MA.  Ann’s family will receive guests on Wednesday morning from 9:00AM until 10:15AM, at the McCarthy Funeral Homes, 36 Bank Row, Greenfield, MA.  Dismissal prayers will be recited at 10:15AM with a processional to follow to Blessed Sacrament Church.
